Who are we and what do

Thank you for your interest in the Ark-LA-Tex Volkswagen Club. This segment will provide you with basic information about our club.

The Ark-LA-Tex Volkswagen Club was founded in 2000, by a group of people who saw the benefit of joining fellow VW enthusiasts together to share and assist each other and to enjoy their mutual hobby.  We are a volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to the preservation, restoration, and customizing of the Volkswagen.

The mission of our club is to provide a forum for communication and knowledge sharing, the exchange of ideas, methodology, parts, and technical assistance among interested members regarding all types of Volkswagens.  We are charged to promote membership and pride in owning, preserving, driving, and collecting Volkswagens.

We invite all persons interested in Volkswagens to join our club.  Your Volkswagen doesn't have to be a bone-stock original model, nor a show-winner. You don't even have to own a Volkswagen to be a member!  Most of our members own "projects."

Although the majority of vehicles in the club are air-cooled (Beetle, Super Beetle, Bus, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Kit Cars) we do have several owners of water-cooled vehicles (New Beetle, Rabbit, GTI, Jetta, Passat, etc.) who are members. Again, if you have an interest in VW's you are more than welcome to join us.

To further our cause we have meetings on the third Thursday of each month, We participate in plenty of events throughout the year which allow you to meet enthusiasts with similar interests and to provide the resources to help you enjoy your Volkswagen to the fullest degree.  Check our Events Calendar  for details.

Club dues are currently $20 per person or $25.00 per family each year. 1 Club T-Shirt is included with your membership....  Make your check out to Ark-LA-Tex VW Club.  Bring it to our next meeting or event or mail it to our Club Treasurer, Veronica Greer .
